Actually, I am from London, England, well, South East London to be exact, not too far from Greenwich, where time is run. I have also lived in Scotland, Austria, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Iceland, and to have experienced these different cultures has been an important part of my life, I have been very lucky, and I am thankful for that.
I came to the US in 2001 as a student in Anne Arundel Community College and completed a degree in Communication Arts Technology, which basically is - graphic design including all forms of multimedia tehcnology.
I couldn't resist purchasing a house on College Avenue (at least after selling up everything back home, I was able to find a place of my own), over here because Historic Ellicott City reminded me so much of the old country, and I find it very quaint and a pleasure to live here.
I am trying to and bring the whole community closer together through one site to benefit visitors, the locals, and the establishments of Ellicott City, MD. Advertising events for the town and building this website with about 3,000 pages has been on my back, both financially and time wise. A site like this is insane to build, it has so much info on the town, but I'll tell you this - it has been a pleasure; someone has seen fit to bless Maryland, it truly is a place of beauty. If you are thinking of visiting Maryland, you need go no further than MD is Fun. I am now working with Howard County Tourism to promote the town of Historic Ellicott City & the surrounding area, I again am thankful to them in showing me the confidence in my site.
The website has come along quite nicely in the past few years really, which is when I started adding content and trying to convince local businesses to sign up for a minimal fee of $150 per year, which I haven't raised in 3 years. Now it has become the premier place on the internet for anything to do with Historic Ellicott City, and the surrounding area. So far I have been lucky enough to appear in the Howard County Times & The View Newspaper.
I am not a corporation or anything like that, just a local trying to do my part for the town; so donations are greatly appreciated, cause I really don't get paid much for this.
My favorite sport being Formula 1 not football, well, the FA Cup and World Cup are an obvious must!

I feel lucky to have a car like this, I mean when I came over here, I sold everything back home and left with my now wife.
I've never had a new car, or even dreamt of one but this new one from 2001 will be with me as long as I am around, took me thirty odd years to save up for it! As you can see from the image, "Jack of Arts" did me proud, I mean really!
I gave the general direction in which I wanted to go and they came up with a great design, and the results are fantastic! I am very grateful to them! |
